Choosing Tiles for Your Bathroom Remodel

Everyone wants to make sure that they can get the most out of their bathroom, no matter how much or how little that they are going to be changed. When you’re looking at the bathroom, you want to make sure that the floor is going to be able to stand up against whatever it is that you’re going to throw at it. Here are the two main things that you need to think about when it comes to getting tiles for your new bathroom.

If you want an easy-care floor: Go for porcelain or glazed tiles, and avoid porous natural stone tiles like limestone. Unless sealed vigilantly, they’ll absorb drips and spills and become stained over time. That means that you will spend a lot more time scrubbing. So, go for those other tiles to see a big difference.

If you want a nonslip floor: Choose tiles with textured surfaces, matte finishes, or sand-containing glazes. Another option: small tiles with lots of grout lines, which offer better “grip” than large tiles. This is great for everyone who may be trying to make sure that you can prevent as many slips and falls as you can.
